The Inflation Reduction Act is expected to reduce the cost of microgrids and drive industry growth. Track news on the IRA and its impact here.

In August, President Biden signed the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) into law. The law establishes a 30% tax credit through 2032 for the technologies used within microgrids, including solar, energy storage and microgrid controllers.

It’s expected that the IRA will significantly reduce the cost of microgrids and drive rapid growth in the industry.

Microgrid Knowledge has been tracking the microgrid tax credit since it was first introduced as part of the earlier Build Back Better Act and California Congressman Jimmy Panetta’s, D-Carmel Valley, MICROGRID Act.

If you want to better understand the IRA and its impact, check out these stories.
