Have You Seen These Microgrids? Here’s Your Chance at Microgrid 2018

Feb. 13, 2018
Not only will Microgrid 2018 — to be held in Chicago, May 7-9 — include presentations, panel discussions and forums, but the event will also feature microgrid tours to give attendees an in-person taste of the city’s cutting-edge projects.

One of the many reasons to attend the Microgrid 2018 conference (Chicago, May 7-9) is the opportunity to tour working and developing microgrids.

Space is limited so register now to secure a first-hand look at:

  • Chicago’s Shedd Aquarium microgrid in development
  • The Illinois Institute of Technology’s working microgrid
  • S&C Electric Smart Grid Solutions Demonstration Center

The Shedd Aquarium is home to the largest solar installation at one of Illinois’ most important cultural institutions. It offers an example of an unusual microgrid in development, one that contributes to a sustainable environment for more than 1,500 species, including fish, marine mammals, birds, snakes, amphibians and insects.

At 2017’s sold-out Boston event, Microgrid Knowledge publisher Kevin Normandeau interviews Mike Bakas, executive vice president, Ameresco, about why Delta Airlines values resiliency.

Attendees can also explore the Illinois Institute of Technology’s microgrid project — the centerpiece of a planned microgrid cluster with Commonwealth Edison’s Bronzeville microgrid. IIT’s microgrid is lauded as a model for energy reliability.

S&C Electric will offer Microgrid 2018 attendees a tour of its Smart Grid Solutions Demonstration Center. Tour participants can see, in real time, how smart grid technologies respond to grid issues and optimize power delivery systems. The tour includes interactive exhibits that display S&C’s solutions, such as microgrids, self-healing technology, energy storage integration solutions and communications systems

The microgrid tours aren’t the only reason to register now for Microgrid 2018 conference here .

Attendees of the three-day conference will be privy to the most up-to-date information about the industry from the experts that are helping develop the next era of microgrids. The agenda is designed to help attendees target the latest microgrid opportunities across North America in a range of sectors, such as commercial & industrial operations, utilities, hospitals, pharmaceuticals, data centers, colleges and universities, real estate developments, institutions government and military.

Microgrid 2017 was sold out, and conference organizers expect the same this year as enthusiasm is high for the upcoming spring event.
