The deadline is just a few weeks away to apply to speak at Microgrid 2022: Microgrids as Climate Heroes, the largest global gathering of the microgrid community, to be held this year in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, June 1-2, 2022.

The deadline is just a few weeks away to apply to speak at Microgrid 2022: Microgrids as Climate Heroes to be held June 1-2 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, a city central to the vibrant microgrid markets of the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic states.

Microgrid Knowledge’s annual conference is the largest worldwide gathering of the microgrid community. Featuring two days of thought-provoking and lively content, this year’s event will offer both introductory sessions geared toward those new to microgrids and deep dive discussions for experienced microgridders.

Several hundred participants are expected to attend, among them businesses, institutions and government entities that are exploring microgrid adoption, along with utilities, microgrid developers, technology vendors, engineering and design firms, policymakers, investors, inventors, visionaries and others.

Microgrid 2022 will focus on how microgrids keep power flowing during climate disasters, while also fostering cleaner, less costly and more equitable energy. The event will give special attention this year to the role microgrids will play in rebuilding US infrastructure as envisioned in newly passed federal legislation.

Main stage forums will highlight big picture energy and microgrid themes, while breakout sessions will provide deeper insight and education.

Details about speaker requirements and content preferences are available on the speaker application page. The deadline to apply to speak is Feb. 1, 2022.

“We urge those who are interested to apply as soon as possible, and not wait until the deadline. Applications are being reviewed as they arrive and sessions may be filled before the final deadline. We always receive many times more speaker applications than we can accommodate,” said Elisa Wood, editor-in-chief of Microgrid Knowledge.

“Interest ran so high in our last event, Microgrid California, that we had to put up the “sold out” sign,” added Kevin Normandeau, publisher of Microgrid Knowledge and co-host of the event. “We expect this event, centered in one of the world’s most vibrant microgrid markets — the US Northeast — to be equally in demand.”

In addition to its on-stage content, Microgrid 2022 will offer workshops, extensive networking opportunities, virtual microgrid tours, and a trade show floor where microgrid customers can explore the latest in distributed energy technologies.

Participants also will have the opportunity to participate in a pre-conference workshop May 31 on government policy and regulation, hosted by Think Microgrid, a policy advocacy and education division of Microgrid Knowledge.

Microgrid 2022 will be held at the Philadelphia Marriott Downtown. This will be the eighth microgrid event hosted by Microgrid Knowledge, the largest independent news and information site dedicated to all things microgrid.
