With more than 60 leaders and experts featured, Microgrid 2017 is expected to be one of the most comprehensive, content-rich gatherings yet held for the microgrid industry.

A detailed preliminary agenda is now available for the Nov. 6-8 conference, which will be held at the Boston Park Plaza.

“Still six months out from the event, we’ve received an overwhelming response from our call for presentations, many times more than we could accommodate for the three-day event,” said Elisa Wood, editor-in-chief of Microgrid Knowledge. “As a result, we were able to create an agenda for Microgrid 2017 with an exceptional breadth of content and caliber of speaker.”

Hosted by Microgrid Knowledge, the International District Energy Association and the Microgrid Resources Coalition, Microgrid 2017 is the brainchild of three organizations with deep insight into the microgrid industry, its players and its prospects.

In addition, IDEA is recognized globally for its conferences, which attract top tier energy professionals, who share their practical experience on real-world projects and operating systems.

Robert Thornton, IDEA president & CEO, noted that hosting Microgrid 2017 in Boston creates an opportunity “to showcase multiple mission-critical microgrids providing services to world-class companies and institutions, while answering these questions: How do you optimize efficiency?  What is your islanding strategy? What was the business case for deployment, and how do you interact with the local utility?”

He added: “These insights and connections will be valuable take-aways for any attendee.”

In addition to extensive networking opportunities, Microgrid 2017 will feature lively panel discussions, on-stage interviews with thought leaders, practical workshops, valuable market and technical presentations, and tours of Boston-area microgrids, some of the most sophisticated in the nation.

At Microgrid 2017, you can:

  • Discover how states are ushering in the microgrid era with grid modernization reforms. See the path ahead – including its bumps, curves and fast tracks — as described by a plenary panel of regulatory leaders. Learn how the microgrid community can inform, advise and support appropriate regulatory change.
  • Gain insight from some the largest energy infrastructure and technology companies, as Microgrid Knowledge interviews their key executives on stage. Which technologies will thrive? What business models will take hold? Who will lead, what partners will they choose, and how can you be among them?
  • Learn about the value of a microgrid for your facility by seeing some of the best, first-hand, in action. Sign up for guided tours of microgrids in the Boston-area, among them a medical center, university, pharmaceutical company and corporate headquarters.

Registration is now open. A limited number of discounted rooms are available at the Boston Park Plaza. Go to Microgrid2017.com to view the preliminary agenda and secure your registration for the microgrid event of the year.
