Amid the Caribbean energy crisis and high energy prices large consumers of power are looking to reduce their energy cost while reducing fossil fuel consumption. One such high power load is the reverse osmosis [RO], desalination plant at the luxury resort CuisinArt on the picturesque island of Anguilla. The resort’s desalination plant services the 130-key CuisinArt Resort featuring an 18-hole Greg Norman Signature Golf Course, the new 80-key Reef Hotel, an award-winning spa and six full-service restaurants.Rory Purcell, the resort’s innovative chief engineer, was seeking a solution to reduce the resort’s energy bill by incorporating solar PV and establishing a microgird to reduce their carbon footprint by 1.2 million pounds per year.
