Join Us this Week for a Panel on Microgrids at the Energy Storage Assoc. Expo in Denver

Elisa Wood, editor-in-chief of Microgrid Knowledge, will lead a discussion, “Resilient Design: Micro? Nano? How Integrated Systems Excel,” at the Energy Storage Association’s 27th Annual Conference and Expo, April 18-20 in Denver, Colorado.

Elisa Wood, editor-in-chief of Microgrid Knowledge, will lead a discussion, “Resilient Design: Micro? Nano? How Integrated Systems Excel,” at the Energy Storage Association’s (ESA) 27th Annual Conference and Expo, April 18-20 in Denver, Colorado.

The discussion will begin at 2 p.m. MT, Wednesday, April 19, Room 205, at the Denver Convention Center.

Microgrid experts will offer insight into real world experience developing and deploying microgrids, along with system designs, costs, and benefits. Panelists include Steve Williard of the Electric Power Research Institute, Greg Hasler of Caterpillar Microgrid Solutions, Dan Nordloh of Ensync Energy Systems, and John Merritt of Ideal Power.

The three-day event, which is expected to attract more than 2,000 participants, will feature Colorado Gov. John Hickenlooper, who will present the opening day keynote address.

Other keynote speakers are: Ivor Catto, CEO of RES Group; Michael O’Sullivan, senior vice president of development for NextEra Energy Resources; former Gov. Bill Ritter, Jr., founder and director of the Center for the New Energy Economy; and Martin Keller, director of the National Renewable Energy Laboratory.

The conference includes three guided tours, among them a visit to Pena Station at Panasonic Energy Solutions’ transportation hub and microgrid.

In total, the conference features more than 35 educational keynote and breakout session, with 125 expert speakers and industry executives in six unique educational tracks. Core topics for this year’s conference include: Technology Advancement and Innovation; Financing the Storage Revolution; Enabling the 21st Century Grid; Policy and Markets for Storage; Storage + X: Combining Value; and Global Storage Markets.

“Denver is an ideal destination for our 2017 conference – with a robust advanced energy ecosystem throughout Colorado and many innovative energy storage projects already deployed in an all-around world class city,” said Matt Roberts, ESA executive director. “We are thrilled to be hosting the global energy industry this April to take the next steps in driving the transformation of our power sector and laying the foundations for the continued growth of energy storage.”
