Finalists Named for Microgrid Greater Good Awards

Twenty-four finalists are in the running for the Microgrid 2019 Greater Good Awards. Here’s the list of projects and companies. Winners will be announced at Microgrid 2019, May 14-16 in San Diego.

Twenty-four finalists are now in the running for the Microgrid Greater Good Awards for 2019.

Listed below, the finalists are among more than 100 projects nominated from throughout the world.

The final winners will be announced at Microgrid 2019: Shaping the New Electric Grid, May 14-16 in San Diego, Calif

Three awards will be given: Greater Good Award for a Grid-Connected Microgrid; Greater Good Award for a Remote Microgrid; Highest Recognition for a Microgrid Serving the Greater Good.

The winners must offer one or more benefits that include improved quality of life, lower energy costs, improved reliability, emissions reductions, enhancing a local economy and other factors.

“We received a tremendous number of fascinating microgrid projects, all that make life better for people in various ways. Narrowing them down was difficult. We’re eager to see who the judges determine to be the final winners,” said Elisa Wood, editor-in-chief of Microgrid Knowledge, which is hosting Microgrid 2019.

Judges for the competition are William Brent, director Power for All; Kaitlyn Bunker, manager, Islands Energy Program, Rocky Mountain Institute; and Jonathan Hart, senior specialist at the Center for Sustainable Energy and Matt Roberts, Managing Director, Prospect Hill Energy Consulting and former Executive Director of the Energy Storage Association.
