AlphaStruxure and The Mobility House Partner on North American EV Infrastructure
AlphaStruxure, a joint venture between Schneider Electric and The Carlyle Group, has partnered with The Mobility House to help streamline the development of zero-emission electric fleet infrastructure in North America.
The partnership unites AlphaStruxure’s microgrid technology and energy as a service platform with The Mobility House’s intelligent electricity management system.
Delivering custom solutions for energy-intensive organizations, the companies are now positioned to help private and public vehicle fleets of all sizes electrify and secure long-term power resilience and reliability.
Tailoring the technical and financial details specifically for each project, AlphaStruxure’s services focus on tapping into renewable resources, adding storage and intelligently managing energy throughout the system.
With the help of ChargePilot, The Mobility House’s charging and energy storage interface, operators will be able to further optimize power for their EV fleets with the ability to manage electricity between a network of separate microgrids.
Together, AlphaStruxure and The Mobility House have broken ground on a 5.6 MW microgrid for the Brookville Smart Energy Bus Depot in Montgomery County, Maryland. The project includes new solar canopies and a distributed charging network designed to help the county’s goal of reaching net-zero emissions by 2035.
George Hintler, the US managing director of The Mobility House, said the companies are combining their expertise to set industry foundations while “reimagining the charging landscape for electric fleets.”
While AlphaStruxure provides organizations with electric vehicles, equipment, engineering and financing, The Mobility House’s disbursement and management systems can help accelerate large networks of EV charging, energy generation and storage.
The partnership offers an example of how microgrids are playing a key role in developing sustainable EV infrastructure. By generating and storing renewable energy, microgrid charging stations can allow organizations to simultaneously lower carbon emissions and increase operational independence and resilience.
