Kevin Normandeau, group publisher of Energy Efficiency Markets and Microgrid Knowledge, will moderate a panel “Controllers: Selecting the Right Technology to Control your Own Grid,” on September 11 at the NextGen Microgrid conference in Chicago, Ill.,

Panel participants will include Schneider Electric, Green Energy Corp, and S&C Electric, among others.

The panel session will begin after a 9 a.m. keynote, “The Why, What and How of Microgrids,” which will be presented by Schneider Electric and S&C Electric.  The key note address will focus on real-world applications, strategies for small and large systems, financial feasibility, and return on investment (ROI).

The September 10-12 microgrid conference also will focus on such topics as how microgrids ensure electric reliability, the role of renewable energy and storage in microgrids, demand response, grid interconnection, reshaping the electric grid, leading edge microgrid technologies, campus microgrids and remote micogrids.

In addition, on September 11, S&C will host a tour of its Smart Grid Solution Center at its world headquarters in Chicago. The live-demo demonstrates how S&C’s energy storage and self-healing solutions are used to make microgrids more resilient and efficient. Schneider Electric will provide a preview of its StruXureware Demand Side Operation platform, which manages all types of distributed energy resources, factoring in weather and utility price variation,

Schneider and S&C are inviting attendees to visit their shared booth in the main expo to learn more about these latest innovations. Private meetings can be arranged by sending an email to [email protected] or [email protected].

The conference is being organized by Active Communications International. More information about the conference is available here.
