Ameresco says project construction is underway for the U.S. General Services Administration’s $45 million energy savings performance contract. The contract applies to two federal buildings within the GSA’s National Capital Region outside of Washington, D.C. Ameresco is installing comprehensive energy conservation measures to reduce total energy consumption of the two federal buildings by 60 percent, which exceeds GSA’s established energy and water conservation goals for the challenge. Savings in the first year are expected to be over $2.8 million.

EnerSys has launched its Zero Battery Change Designer modeling software that identifies the most efficient and cost-effective energy configuration for companies running forklift fleets. The software completes operational and financial analysis within 30 minutes, quickly providing a savings framework for each company. ZBC is a program that allows lift trucks to operate all day on just one battery, in which the battery can be quickly recharged while drivers are on break, eliminating battery changes even for multi-shift operations.

Energi will provide an Energy Savings Warranty  for a Toronto Atmospheric Fund energy efficiency retrofit in Toronto, Ontario. The ESW—Energi’s first announced warranty in Canada—will enable TAF to finance and implement $460,000 in energy upgrades to the Robert Cooke Co-Operative Homes, achieving annual cost savings of more than $70,000 and reducing the green house gas emissions emitted by the building by more than 25 percent.
